My journey with Yoga began at the age of 5 when I was taught Hatha yoga by my Mother when we were living in the New Forest. Much of my early experience was simply playful. As a child what Iloved about Yoga and still do, was that in each of the poses I imagined becoming a tree, a cat, a mountain and so on. This infused a deep love of nature, of walking and meditating in the Natural World and is at the root of my Druid and Bardic Practice. Celtic spirituality is one of the three streams that flow through Three Hills School of Yoga.
The art and science of yoga is another. I have practised Iyengar and later Satyananda yoga. I am in my second year of Yoga Teacher Training at the Mandala Yoga Ashram under the spiritual directorship of Swami Nischalananda in the hills of South Wales. This has its roots in the timeless traditions of yoga and is also adapted to the needs of living in the 21st century, it is accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga.
The third stream Buddhism, the path of the Middle Way came into my life at 25 whist I was at Falmouth Art School in Cornwall. I began a daily Mantra practice which combined with hatha yoga transformed my life, opening the door to Compassion and inner Peace. Within the Three Hills of Yoga we begin with where we are, and what we have; adapting yoga postures and breathing practices to meet the needs of the individual so that regardless of age or body shape all may benefit from the shared experience of yoga.
Yoga has the potential to show us the way to come home to ourselves , awakening to our essential nature.
My home for 26 years has been in Glastonbury it is here that my druid practice has blossomed drawing its inspiration from the Three Hills of Glastonbury, the Tor, Chalice Hill and Weayrall Hill.
Having followed the path of Celtic mysticism for many years I was initiated as a Bard and Druid at Avebury in 2012 into the Druid Clan of Dana.In The Autumn of that year I started my Grove the White Hart of Avalon.
I have been teaching Labyrinth workshops for creativity and meditation for 10 years
